Cos'è
L’Istituto Centrale per l’Archeologia, nella persona del suo direttore Elena Calandra, partecipa a:
Reframing Sculptural Reuse in the Greco-Roman World, il workshop internazionale in programma presso l’Università di Copenhagen (South Campus, room 4A-0-68) il 12 e il 13 ottobre 2023.
Il riutilizzo scultoreo nel mondo Greco-Romano è diventato, negli ultimi anni, un argomento di crescente interesse. Le ricerche più recenti adottano una nuova prospettiva culturale che si concentra non solo sulla statuaria in sé, ma anche sulla trasformazione degli stessi materiali scultorei nel tempo e nello spazio.
Questo workshop si propone infatti di discutere il riuso scultoreo nella Grecia romana concentrandosi: sull’indagine delle diverse motivazioni sottese all’attenzione per le sculture antiche in diversi contesti geografici e cronologici; su quanto il riuso delle sculture riveli in merito agli atteggiamenti verso il passato e all’antiquaria nel mondo greco-romano; su quali fossero le fonti e i canali di approvvigionamento e distribuzione delle sculture riutilizzate.
